Why use a pet sitter?

The number one reason to use a pet sitter is the fact that your pet/s can stay in their own surroundings. This helps your pet to be less stressed while you are away.  Your pet will receive plenty of love and attention. Our number one goal is to be a seamless service. We are here for your pet sitting needs and provide a seamless service for you and your pets as if you had not left at all.  Your pet sitter will also bring in your mail, UPS/FedEx packages, paper, and remove your trash, or water plants.  This helps to make your home looked ‘lived in’ while you are away.

What services do you offer?

We offer Non-Timed Pet Sitting of All Pets in your home.  Each situation is unique. This is why we provide a wide variety of services.

  • Dog Walking.   We will be there for your dog/s to provide a much needed break for exercise, stimulation, a walk, and medication. Check out Our Back To School Pet Packages!
  • Pet Sitting.  We will provide you a seamless service as if you have not left.  We can visit 3 times per day for dogs, and 1 time per day for cats.  We will maintain your pets daily routine.
  • Overnight Pet Sitting:  Premium Package:  We come to your home in the evening and provide their evening routine and spend the night in your home. We then provide your pets morning routine.  If your dog/s OR Cats  need a Midday Visit just let us know, this is called Our Gold Overnight Package!
  • House Sitting:  We will stay in your home with or without pets around the clock with a few breaks per day to run errands.
  • Home Security Check: We check your property inside and outside per your instructions!

Why not ask a friend or a neighbor about ‘checking’ in on your pets?

It is a huge responsibility taking care of a pet.  This can be an imposition on friends and family who are usually busy with their own lives.  How do you really know that your pets are cared for?  Your pets will be cared for on your friends or families schedule. Will they continue to be available if your plans are extended?   We are equipped to handle emergencies if they arise. We will continue to care for your pets until the end of your service schedule, and beyond with a quick call/text.

Do I meet the pet sitter before the service starts?

Yes.  At times this is impossible and it depends on how busy you are! You will meet the pet sitter at the free in home consultation before the service begins.

How do you select your pet sitters?

Our pet sitters are put through a rigorous application and screening process before they become a part of our team.   We perform complete background checks through Acutraq Background Screening. We conduct a portion of the hiring process in the potential pet sitters home. We are Insured & Bonded through Travelers and they require our pet sitters pass a home inspection for Dog Boarding, and for maximum pet security and safety.

What kind of info will I need before the pet sitting visit?

The information and items that are needed are as follows:

  •  Personal Information.   Your email address, and your cell phone number. If you are leaving for a trip and will not be able to use your cell phone, please provide an alternate phone number.
  • Emergency Contact.   Preferably someone local.
  • Pet Information.   Daily feeding schedule, favorite toys, special hiding places, health information.
  • Veterinarian Information:   Name & Number & Address in case of emergency.
  •  Pets Medical History.   Medications administered. Please provide detailed instructions.
  • Security Company:  Phone number, code to enter/code to depart & password in case your pet sitter sets off alarm.
  • 2 keys to your home.  One for pet sitter and one for the office as a backup. Please test keys before giving them to your pet sitter for service!
  • Names of other people who have access to your home:  Maid Service , Pool Service, Lawn Service, Friends.

 How are my keys handled?

We use a pet sitting software that codes your keys with a numerical code. Not your name or address. We prefer to hold onto keys for future pet siting service. This is for the client which will need future services.

Do I reserve the same pet sitter each time?

Yes.  Our pet sitters are extensively trained by the owner of the company. We prefer that you and your pet have the same pet sitter every time!  If there happens to be a pet sitter emergency, your back up pet sitter will perform the service!

What does a pet sitter do during the visit?

During a pet sitting visit, your pet sitter will provide the services you requested at the consultation.  Walking your dog/s, or letting them out in back yard for potty break, caring for you cat, offering play time, stimulation and exercise. They will give food per your instructions, offer treats if it is allowed, and administer medication/s, or vitamins.  They will also bring in your mail, water your plants if requested, take out trash, bring in bins, make sure that papers and UPS/FedEx boxes are secure in your home. They will alter your blinds, drapes, or lights for security.

What can I expect when I return home?

Your pet sitter will send a Daily Visit Note Email after each visit which usually includes a picture online for you to view via our pet sitting software. They will notate everything that went on during their visit with your pet/s. Your pets interaction with them, and other details of what happened during their visit. If you ask for Hard Copy Daily Visit Notes to be left on the kitchen counter instead, we will do that!

How much advance notice do you require before service?

To ensure availability it is best to contact us as soon as you anticipate you will need our services. It is best to give a 48 hour notice!  During the summer months or Holiday time we ask for 10 days notice. If a last minute need arises please do not hesitate to call; we will always try our best to accommodate you.

Will you check my pool on a Home Security Check?  Yes.  We will check your pool, but we are not a pool service company. We request that you hire a pool service for specific tasks other than to turn on/off pool.

What happens if there is an emergency with my pet?

Your pet sitter will follow your instructions during an emergency with your pet, and contact you.  If you cannot be reached we will call your emergency contact.

What happens if there is an emergency weather situation?

This is our Inclement Weather Clause: Vital Visits Pet Sitting Service will use their best judgment in caring for your pets(s) and home. If we are servicing you at the time of inclement weather, Vital Visits Pet Sitting Service will try to carry out your instructions to the best of our ability. The care we provide to our customer’s pets and their safety is our first concern. The inclement weather plan will be as follows: 1) Every effort will be made to drive to your home; 2) The service schedule may be changed, interrupted, altered due to circumstances, with your permission-stay at your home, or remove small animals from your home and care for them at my home; 3)If it is not possible to drive safely to your home, your emergency contact will be notified, 4) You will be notified that the above-mentioned contingency plan has been activated.
