Why Does My Dog Eat Poo?

why does my dog eat poo?

Admittedly, sometimes our dogs can do some strange and disgusting things that we as humans cannot quite comprehend.  One of them that is highly questionable to us is why they eat poo.  Some will eat their own after they’ve done their business while others seem to want to dig up their cat friend’s poo from the litter box.  Mother dogs with newborns eat their puppy’s poo via natural instinct, but some never seem to stop otherwise. When Is It Too Hot To Walk Dogs In Texas?

It Is That Time Of Year Again!

We all love to be outdoors when the weather allows for daily walks, playtime outdoors, camping, fishing, and all of those fun summer activities! Actually, it was not that long ago when we had freezing temps in our area, but when is it too hot to walk dogs in Texas?

When you are a pet lover this becomes a concern and even more so while pet sitting! By early May and sometimes in April here in Texas the weather starts to warm quickly and we find ourselves in the midst of 90 degree weather before we know it. Do you consider the health of your pets at this time? How do you keep your pets safe from the heat?

Quoted from the ASPCA Website:

Hot Dog How To Keep Your Pets Cool!

“Even the healthiest pets can suffer from dehydration, heat stroke and sunburn if overexposed to the heat,” says Dr. Lila Miller, ASPCA Vice President of Veterinary Outreach, “and heat stroke can be fatal if not treated promptly.”

Watch out for the following symptoms of overheating in pets:

  • excessive panting or difficulty breathing
  • drooling
  • mild weakness
  • stupor and even collapse

Pets can also suffer from seizures, bloody diarrhea and vomiting, along with an elevated body temperature of over 104 degrees.
